Internet Explorer 7 crashes

On my XP Laptop I get a crash every time I close IE. Firefox works fine. I ran spybot and virus removal without any problems. Any ideas?

Just a couple of suggestions. First off make sure that IE is updated to the latest version. If that doesn’t work open “Add or Remove Programs,” then click on “Add/Remove Windows Components.” Here it is possible to uninstall IE by unchecking the box next to IE. Next reboot and reinstall IE through the same method it was uninstalled. Try again and if it doesn’t work make sure it’s updated and try again. The other suggestion I have is to put the OS CD into the drive and click on Start then Run and type in “sfc /scannow” this will try to repair your basic OS files and may resolve the issue.

What other troubleshooting steps have you tried? Let us also know if any of this helps.

Or, you could do what I do. Refuse to install IE7 at all.

I use Firefox with tabs for all of my common everyday sites - Gmail, DDO (Dungeons & Dragons Online) forums, & Pay Pal. But I have to use IE for there.com, my main site to deal with, because they are not competely FF compatable quite yet.

I use IE6 with no problems at all. AND I can see my refresh button. heh.

If you want to go really stable and don't care for those fancy graphics skip Firefox and I suggest using Lynx, cause it's really fast and never crashes. However , since Lynx isn’t compatible with all websites I’m considering upgrading to IE 6 but my IE 5.5 is still working fine on my windows ME box so I think I stay where I'm at.
