I couldn't believe the day after our party we had a customer with a branch office in Irvine had their server crash after a major power outage.
We have huge UPSs and graceful shutdown procedures but it just didn't matter.

Computers are just not sexy enough. Apple tried to make it so by changing colors from the old beige box. They even created see-through computers so you could see the inner workings. That didn't help either.
PCs have gone from beige to white to black and back again. I personally like black best because I like to trip over them in the dark without shoes on. It reminds me I'm alive and not dead inside like some people think.
