Go To Meeting

We are installing a product from Citrix called Go To Meeting. It seems like a pretty good product and I attended the training online. They offer a personal edition and a corporate version. The product basically allows a Net Meeting like atmosphere but a little more sophisticated. All users can take turns being the presentor and can share their computers. You can have 15 simultaneous users on the personal and 25 on the corporate edition on at once. They also allow for some interesting customization but it takes a web and database developer to do it. The big disadvantage I see is that there is no video capability yet. The audio has to still be done through old fashioned phone but at least they provide the conferencing number and the service is included in the corporate version. For some weird reason we feel the need to see each other as well as hear, and this is only going to get more prevalent. Only programs that allow internet only video and audio communication will survive this transition, but Cirtix is smart enough to figure this out before its too late.
